Getting started

  1. Create namespaces

Accounts and currencies live in the namespaces. These namespaces represent communities of identity, e.g. geographical communities (nyc.ny.us), communities of practice (dentist.ny.us), communities of interest (vegetarian.ny.us), etc.

  2. Create accounts

Accounts are the fundamental units of action in open money. Accounts can originate currencies, and can declare and accept wealth acknowledgment flows.

  3. Create currencies

Currencies define patterns of wealth acknowledgment between accounts. Familiar currencies are those used to acknowledge wealth flows in commercial exchange. Open money allows you to create currencies that can measure and acknowledge wealth that is not tradable.

  4. Join currencies

Accounts must join a currency before they can use it.

  5. Acknowledge flows

Once you have set up namespaces, accounts and currencies, you can start acknowledge your wealth flows!
